THE REST OF WORSHIP
If we are to experience true rest in a "set apart" day of rest, that day must be filled with worship. Worship in the Spirit brings indescribable rest.
Leviticus 23:3 NLT: You may work for six days each week, but on the seventh day all work must come to a complete stop. It is the LORD's Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day to assemble for worship....
Isaiah 58:13-14 TM: ...If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy, GOD's holy day as a celebration....Then you'll be free to enjoy GOD!
John 4:23 Amp.: ...the true (genuine) worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshippers.
v. 24: God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).
1 Corinthians 14:15 NLT: ...I will pray in the spirit, and I will pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will sing in words I understand.
Isaiah 28:11-12 KJV: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
Beyond Five: Psalm 108:1-4. Prayer: I worship; my turmoil settles into rest.
